The story goes that an early listener to Mozart’s Symphony No.41 heard the opening flourishes and was reminded of the Roman god Jupiter and his thunderbolts.

Mozart's Symphony No.41, known as the Jupiter Symphony, is one of the greatest pieces of orchestral music ever written. Featured alongside this classical masterpiece will be Britten's gorgeous Les Illuminations, performed by Australian soprano, Emma Pearson. Recently returned from a 10-year stint wowing audiences in Germany, she is sure to melt the hearts of Queensland music-lovers. 

Friday morning audiences will hear the dramatic overture to Mozart’s Don Giovanni
