There is a great depth to this Israeli string Quartet’s musical heritage that lends authority to the masterworks they will perform on their national tour.At the heart of each program lies Ross Edwards' String Quartet no 3, Summer Dances, whose rhythms reflect the natural world of its composer’s native Australia, and give the Jerusalem Quartet a chance to share a New World sunniness amongst Old World classics.

There is a great depth to this Israeli string Quartet’s musical heritage that lends authority to the masterworks they will perform on their national tour.

In program one, we hear Beethoven in perhaps the most ‘Haydnish’ of his quartets, op 18 no 6, matched perfectly with Dvorák’s Quartet no 13, full of Bohemian tunefulness.

Program two opens with Haydn’s well-loved ‘Lark’ Quartet, famously described as ‘A story, a song, a dance, and a party’, and closes with the first of Beethoven’s 'Razumovsky’ Quartets, whose Russian-tinged melodies acknowledge the princely heritage of its commissioner.
