Australian Brandenburg Orchestra
Presented by Johann Sebastian Bach to Christian Ludwig, Margrave of Brandenburg-Schwedt, in 1721, the Brandenburg Concertos are a collection of immortal masterpieces of invention. These exquisite chamber pieces are widely regarded as the pinnacle of instrumental composition from the Baroque era.
To open our 30th Anniversary season, five concertos will be performed in one unforgettable evening. Showcasing the skills and brilliance of Australia’s national Baroque orchestra, these concertos are rarely performed in one concert. Each concerto is unique, combining a remarkable array of daring instrumental combinations.
