​The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra announces tour to Shanghai, Fuzhou and Nanjing later this year.

TSO recently travelled to China to take part in the celebrations of the 35th anniversary of Tasmania's sister state relationship with Fujian Province.With the support of the Tasmanian Government the TSO will again travel to China and further strengthen the orchestra's cultural connection and friendship with China.

The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra will play eight concerts in China at the end of this year.As part of the tour, the orchestra will also present a joint performance with the Jiangsu Symphony Orchestra in Nanjing on New Year’s Eve along with a special performance in Shanghai.

Tasmanian Arts Minister Vanessa Goodwin said, "Earlier this month I had the honour of representing the Tasmanian Liberal Government in China to take part in the celebrations of the 35th anniversary of our sister state relationship with Fujian Province, and the tour will further strengthen our cultural connection and friendship with China."

The TSO is in discussions for potential broadcast of the concerts across China, expanding the reach of the tour and raising the profile of the orchestra and Tasmania.
