Circus Oz had the privilege of touring their show Precarious to remote communities on the Tiwi Islands in June that enabled cultural exchange and community engagement.

As part of the Good Time For All program they delivered free workshops and outdoor performances of Precarious to communities on both Bathurst and Melville Islands.

Bathurst Island

  • 6 circus workshops were delivered over four days with local school students who also participated in the community show
  • 173 children engaged in the inclusive circus workshops
  • Over 200 local community members were inspired by the joy of circus at the community show

Melville Island

  • 3 workshops were delivered at Milikapiti and 2 at Tiwi College with local school students who also participated in the community show
  • 133 children learnt circus skills in the workshops
  • 220 local community members were delighted and entertained by the community show
  • Cultural exchange with local elders and community members
