Its $15 million purpose-built circus hub is on the former Collingwood TAFE site and has been supported by the Victorian government.

Circus Oz General Manager Lou Oppenheim told artshub, ‘Obviously it’s been fantastic to have the support of the Victorian government in making this building happen in terms of funding … and the open day on Saturday was a testament to the community support we’ve also had; we had at least 2,500 people come through the doors, which made us feel really welcomed by the community here in the north.

‘It’s been the culmination of an awful lot of people’s work, and as with everything at Circus Oz, we’re standing on the shoulders of all the people who’ve come before,’ she said.
