The Australia Council reported that in 2012 308,000 people were social media friends or followers—an increase of 51 per cent on 2010—with around a further 8 million people listening or watching a radio broadcast, TV or cinema screening of a live performance.

The Australian Ballet — The Australian Ballet presents two of the greatest Romantic ballets on one double bill—the fairy tale La Sylphide and the glittering party piece Paquita. Playing at the Sydney Opera House from 7–25 November.

Bangarra — Bangarra presents Dance Clan 3 as a part of Corroboree Sydney, a new production commissioned by Artistic Director Stephen Page, choreographed by four of the company’s artists Deborah Brown, Yolande Brown, Tara Gower and Jasmin Sheppard.

Sydney Dance Company — Presented by the Sydney Opera House in August, Sydney Dance Company performed Les Illuminations, alongside singer Katie Noonan and musicians from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Australian Chamber Orchestra — The Crowd: Luminous cinematography of mobs, flocks and rabbles beamed onto the big screen while almost 100 musicians perform a live score, conducted by Richard Tognetti.
