Cinderella picks up two awards
The Australian Dance Awards were announced last night at the Sydney Opera House—and Cinderella by The Australian Ballet was awarded Outstanding Performance by a Company.

In further recognition of the new ballet, Principal Artist Leanne Stojmenov won the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Dancer for her work in the title role.
Alexei Ratmansky’s Cinderella premiered in 2013 and was the first full-length production the lauded choreographer had created for an Australian company. Following sell-out seasons in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide, the production returns to the Melbourne stage in June 2015 for an exclusive encore season.
‘I could not be more proud of our company’, Artistic Director of The Australian Ballet David McAllister said of the awards.
‘We had the most amazing time working with the extraordinary Alexei Ratmansky on the creation ofCinderellaand everyone involved really blossomed through the process.’
