Aria Awards

The first ARIA Awards for 2016 in the categories of Fine Arts, Artisan and Best Comedy Awards were presented on 5 October.

Announced in advance of the main awards ceremony on November 23, the categories included Best Classical Album, Best Jazz Album, Best Original Soundtrack/Cast/Show Album, Best World Music Album along with Producer Of The Year, Engineer Of the Year, Best Cover Art and Best Comedy Release.

Congratulations to all the nominees including Best Classical Album to the Australian Chamber Orchestra (Mozart’s Last Symphonies) and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (live with Flight Facilities), Best Original Soundtrack/Cast/Show Album to the Queensland Symphony Orchestra (Gallipoli Symphony) and Sydney Symphony Orchestra (live with Josh Pyke).

Final winners were Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Sydney Symphony Orchestra for recordings of their live concerts with Flight Facilities and Josh Pyke respectively.
