April Sneak Peeks 2017

April kicks off at full force with The Australian Ballet’s Faster opening in Sydney. Three adrenalin-charged works from some of the world’s most exciting living choreographers are featured in this heart-pumping triple program. Sydney will also experience Richard Tognetti’s inspired vision of Bach’s magnificent writing for violin in a superb program of Bach violin concertos performed by the Australian Chamber Orchestra.

Opera lovers in Queensland have not been forgotten. The iconic GOMA spaces will ring to the sounds of live opera performances as part of OperaQ’sSensory — an exciting and moving ‘art–meets–music’ event.

Circus Oz is rolling out its Model Citizens east coast regional tour, and the excitement is spreading beyond the big top as Circus Oz creates a dynamic hub for community growth and development.

Tasmanians will delight in an evening of Mendelssohn, Mozart and Beethoven presented by Vituosi Tasmania, and performed by the rising stars of the state’s classical music world against a picturesque vineyard setting.

In Melbourne, The Whitlams celebrate 25 years on the music scene by joining forces with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to perform their classic hits and Melbourne Theatre Company stagesThree Little Words, an acerbic comedy of contemporary manners that shows that cultural sophistication is no protection against the upheavals of life.

With a bow to the ANZAC story, Black Swan Theatre’s The Lighthouse Girl —the courageous story that inspired the roaming spectacular of The Giants —will perform its world premiere in Albany before it heads to Perth.

Overall, April promises to be a high-voltage month!
