Black Swan State Theatre Company presents the archetypal Australian mythPicnic at Hanging Rock; and Sue Smith’s Macchu Picchu—a co-production of Sydney Theatre Company and State Theatre Company of South Australia—opens in Adelaide in its SA leg of a world premiere season.

Specially selected children's choirs will join the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and choir for itsMozart Requiem: 100 voices season in Sydney and Melbourne.

And while Melbourne Symphony Orchestra heads off to China to collaborate with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Ballet performs the classicA Midsummer Night’s Dream—an entirely appropriate offering on the 400th anniversary of the Bard’s death later in the month.
