Trio Dali is an ensemble of soloists, who come together for the love of playing chamber music. Such pleasure in performing is a pleasure for the listener, too.
For this tour the Trio have chosen their favourite works to open each program: the late-Classical grace of Mendelssohn’s C minor Trio, op 66, and Beethoven’s op 1 no 1.
The Trio continue demonstrate their innate but subtle expertise in the performance of a stylish and elegant piece by Chaussen that hints at the Parisian salons. Shubert’s extensive and glorious work extends to a full concert half to close program one. Hints of Paris creep into the program again with Australian composer Roger Smalley, who’s delicious Piano Trio brings delicate figurations to its shimmering tones.
