The Company seeks a new Trusts and Foundations Manager who will be responsible for raising income from Trusts and Foundations that support Opera Australia’s mainstage productions, education and outreach, artists and other projects.

Opera Australia (OA) is Australia’s flagship opera company. OA is dedicated to delivering outstanding performances as the resident company at the Sydney Opera House and Arts Centre Melbourne, and through touring across the country. OA has a range of major projects supporting the future of opera as a contemporary offering, extending the reach of its art-form to new and emerging audiences and of connecting appropriately with specific communities around the nation.

Opera Australia’s Philanthropy Department manages an integrated philanthropy and engagement program to maximise individual giving in support of artistic excellence, production, access activities and the long term goals of the Company.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in raising income from trusts and foundations, research and report writing. The ability to understand and respond to criteria and think creatively about project ‘fit’ will help be successful in this role. Having the ability to manage relationships is essential along with excellent verbal and written skills and strong attention to detail.

Experience in the fundraising environment is highly desirable, as is a demonstrated enthusiasm for the arts and cultural life of Australia.

The position is permanent part-time (2/3 days per week) and located at the Opera Centre in Surry Hills, Sydney.
