In 2018 Malthouse Theatre and Footscray Community Arts Centre continue their partnership through the LIVING NOW program. This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body, and the Malcolm Robertson Foundation. This program supports visionary storytellers to bring culturally contemporary stories to the stage. Now in its second year, the program provides a residency and development opportunity for two writers from diverse backgrounds with an interest in theatre.

Under the guidance of award-winning directors from Opera Queensland and Queensland Theatre, OQ are offering an unique 13-week program exploring the dramatic themes and glorious music of Henry Purcell’s, Dido & Aeneas.
Now in its 48th year, Theatre Residency week (TRW) is the longest running theatre program of its kind in Australia. Over the years it has been attended by some of Australia’s leading theatre artists, including Deborah Mailman, Wesley Enoch, Geoffrey Rush, Paul Bishop and Veronica Neave.

West Australian Ballet has an exciting opportunity for young male performers to be involved in the upcoming season of Dracula at His Majesty’s Theatre (6 – 22 September 2018). Dracula is West Australian Ballet’s brand new production choreographed by Krzysztof Pastor. One of the world’s most highly awarded choreographers with over 50 ballets to his name Krzysztof is Artistic Director of both the Polish and Lithuanian National Ballet Companies, and former choreographer at Dutch National Ballet.
