An accomplished artist, Mitchell has worked on over 100 professional productions as an actor and director. He has a long relationship with State Theatre Company, first performing with us in our 1998 production ofUnidentified Human Remains and the True Nature of Love, directed by former Artistic Director Rosalba Clemente. Most recently, he's starred in STCSA's smash-hit Mr Burns: A Post-Electric Play for which he won a Helpmann Award, making a total of four awarded to him throughout his career.
Building on the incredible work of current Artistic Director Geordie Brookman, Mitchell envisions State Theatre Company becoming "the best multi-disciplinary theatre company in the country". Mitchell is currently performing in Rumpelstiltskin at London's Southbank Centre, a co-production between State Theatre Company and Windmill Theatre and joins the company on a permanent basis from March 2019.
In between performances ofRumpelstiltskin, Mitchell says:
