These are recent media releases from the Australian Major Performing Arts Group.
The seventh annual report on private and corporate income earned by the 28 major performing arts companies reveals that over the five year period 2004-08 $49.6 million was achieved, an increase of $11.8 million since 2004. While the proportion of corporate sponsorship has declined from 2004 – when it represented 68% – to 55% in 2008, the amount of individual donations has increased substantially and now makes up 40% of this income stream.
